Paul Hayden Rat Pack 2012

Paul-Hayden has been mixing and publishing video footage of the British Rat Pack and Legend of Swing shows in the studio while updating a Corporate Entertainment Live Video for You Tube and website marketing.

I’m currently editing DVD footage of the show which has our personal take on how Swing music doesn’t just stop at Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davies Jr and The Rat Pack because it is still evolving in this millennium.

The websites for Paul-Hayden Solo entertainer, The British Rat Pack, The Legend of Swing Show are slowly getting a footing out there!
See us on You Tube

“It’s been a great year, I’ve had a blast! The British Rat Pack is always a lot of fun. The guys have been busy with the seasonal corporate party events. Though the ultimate experience has been the Legend of Swing show. It is awesome working with true professionals oozing absolute talent. Everyone absolutely loved it”!

The overall theatre experience was Brilliant! There were some absolute Highlights before, during and after the shows. It is a very pleasant gathering with the fun factor behind the scenes that simply continued to escalate into the stage and into the audience. I love every moment of it!

There are some really talented people out there with some absolutely fabulous venues run by great teams of staff.

My favourite theatres thus far are The Grove in Dunstable where we filmed the first show and had the pleasure of Ian Gomes on stage outside The Ritz .Plus the amazing Legend of Swing 16 piece London based big band behind him. The 1st night had a very rare and intimate unplugged section with Ian Gomes on piano which was beautiful. They’re all really sensational guys!

Southend Cliffs Pavilion were superb for marketing (I actually made good money that night),and the show at Bournemouth Pavilion which was so polished in performance pace, sound, lighting entertainment and audience loving every second of it. Brilliant!

So if you want to film and record your show the Grove theatre in Dunstable is the perfect studio and theatrical venue to launch a venture production.

If you want to sell tickets and work with a fabulous marketing team and crew in attendance then Southend Cliffs Pavilion. Both theatres are excellent!

Paul-Hayden of The British Rat Pack performs at Fashion Show

On Monday, the 22nd March. I was honoured to sing and provide entertainment at a Charity Fund Raising Fashion Show at the Riverside Suite in the Vauxhall Recreation Complex in Luton.

The event was a Fashion Show that hosted by “Elenis Fashion while among my co performers were TV personalities Anton Du Beke of Strictly Come Dancing and That’s Life TV presenter Esther Ranson.

I was singing to a full house as tickets for the Event had completely sold out!

I opened up the evening and took to the Cat walk at 7.30pm with a nice punchy number followed by some warm laid back classics while informing the audience of the evening’s forthcoming Fashion Show. The show was on auto pilot as it built up too and ended with kicking, swinging 1st set performance that included a bit of Nat King Cole and The Rat Pack. (Video footage coming soon).

DJ Haydn Hammond pumped up the cat walk for the Fashion shows as Presenters Anton Du Beke and Esther Ranson conducted the Elenis Fashion Show. (As seen at http://www.elenisfashions.co.uk/ ).
Anton Du Beke and Esther Ranson gave out some raffle prizes and brought on the fashion finale while I closed the evening being a bit cleshay with “That’s Life”. It’s a shame the rest of the Guys from The British Rat Pack were not there to have fun with me!

Thanks to Haydn and the guys of Concept Events for providing the Sound and Lighting.

Sinatras Pianist Paul-Hayden and The British Rat Pack

Sinatras Pianist Paul-Hayden and The British Rat Pack
Personal entry;

About 6 years ago I was celebrating my sister’s birthday with family at The Ritz in Mayfair London. It was a fabulous day being picked up from home and taken on a tour of London before arriving at The Ritz in a limousine.

While dining I noticed the most beautiful piano playing in the background and so went over to have a chat with the pianist. It transpired that this guy Ian Gomes played for Frank Sinatra as a personal pianist for 11 years. Not to be confused with Bill Miller who was Frank Sinatra’s pianist for nearly 50 years in the big band?

Anyway; it’s not every day that you get the opportunity to sing with Royalty and so I asked if I may sing with him as a Birthday treat or rather a huge treat for me. “Sure”, the guy said. “But you have to clear it with the Matradee”. On that note I made a B line toward the Matradee. However my Italian brother in law caught me enroute and dragged me into the bar for a delicious warmed cognac. On my return I was absolutely disappointed that Ian the pianist had gone…

With this regret we move forward almost 7 years to January 2010.

I required a solo pianist for The British Rat Pack in Sandwich Bay, The Princes Golf Club on the 30th January 2010. By some small miracle I managed to trace The Ritz Pianist Ian Gomes down and arranged a rehearsal at his house.

Sinatras Pianist

In the reception at Ian’s Home were photos covering the wall with Ian and Sinatra, Bill Clinton and other members of The Rat Pack, Dean Martin and Sammy Davies Jr. and so on. During the rehearsal I was amazed how Ian transposed the material note perfect on the piano to suit our male and female vocals. To be honest I couldn’t believe my luck that I was singing with this guy.

At the party, guests were in black tie and evening dress. They were blown away by a surprise appearance and guest performance of Frank Sinatra’s personal pianist.

We performed two stylish shows at the event, the first being an acoustic performance with Ian’s stunning piano accompaniment while the guests were dining. The second performance packed out the dance floor with a lively swing music show that included, Mack the knife, Leroy Brown and many more big band classics.

It was a fabulous night and one I will always remember.

Gala Casio New Years Eve with Paul-Hayden

New Years Eve the Gala Casino England. The champagne flowed as Paul-Hayden of The British Rat Pack blew the socks off party revellers and players in Leicester.

The gaming at this casino was so busy that the tables kept on rolling right through midnight only to pause for Auld Lang Syne a smile, hug and a kiss then straight back to the game mode and 2010.

The show began as the laid back music with Pauls velvet voice washed the tables almost without being noticed until the moment the first song ended receiving abundant admiration and applause.

For a relaxed period Paul sang the most beautiful ambient classics that included his much loved favourite vocalist Nat King Cole among others. He provided the right entertainment for those in deep gaming mode at the tables in the casino.

Then with precision timing…

Paul Sooo mashed that swing button… Mack, Leroy, Sway, New York, Bo Jangles and Birth of the,,,, simply took the roof out of the casino and that was only at 11.30pm 31st December 2009….

This was Pauls final swing performance of 2009…, and his show was spectacular.

11.45pm Paul-Hayden Hits the stage,

Classics of Ray Charles “Hit the road Jack”, Sam Cook and Otis Redding until the count down to 2010 struck midnight…Cheers of “Happy New Year” and “Auld Lang Syne” erupted throughout the venue and the world.

Paul-Hayden gave a toast for happiness and also raised a dram “To Alistair” and his safe return”; the mid night Celtic New Years Piper is posted at a un disclosed military location and could not attend the event.

Paul stepped up the pace once again firing up with a kicking final set of party music that had everyone dancing and rocking throughout the casino including those in their seats at the machines and gaming tables.

Phillip Walker the Gala Casino manager summed up the event “Fantastic. Absolutely Fantastic”.

“Happy New Year”.

(Personal comment) “One thing I enjoy as The British Rat Pack is that every show is unique. This was the four of us and a new show with Sasha performing modern. We all work so well as solos, together or with the big band. Sasha sings with us in some of the swing shows and we work together in other projects.

The British Rat Pack is an enjoyable on going entertainment project I put together to deliver and lavish on some great music that is second to none. There are no impersonators in our show. We are as original as Michael Steven Bublé and Harry Connick Jr. We have the pleasure of performing with some amazing artists and musicians.

This serious industry can be a great deal of fun… If the client wants a Piano, they get a piano. Solo, duo, trio, vocal quartet. Laid back lively swing, soul, dance and big band. No event is too small or too large.

Professional Entertainment to client requirement is delivered because we enjoy it.
